Design, Specifications and Sound Performance. These are the three main criteria that most people use to see whether their chosen sound system made the cut or are worthy to have a place in their entertainment room. An acceptable price range and a well-known brand name are definite added bonuses. However, it is sometimes hard to find a system that meets the first 3 criteria mentioned. But every once in a while, we would find a standout pick like the amazing Yamaha YAS-103 that would not only meet those criteria, but also end up exceeding the initial expectations.
One particular feature that made this system look like a great deal is the fact that unlike other good sound bars priced 300 dollars or less in the market the look too boxy or too bulky, this system employs a gentle curvature with a fine piano black finish. Placement is not a problem either, especially for those with minimal living space. Simply place it on a tv table, on a shelf or even mount it on a wall for less space usage. With its dimensions of 35” in length, 4.5 inches in height and 3.6 inches in depth, it is sure to deliver an optimal sound delivery without being too distracting.
If you think the design is impressive, wait till you hear about the specifications. What I loved about this soundbar is that it is very easy to set up. You can easily connect your HDTV to the system using only a single digital optical cable. As a result you can spend more time enjoying your favorite movies and less time trying to work out wire connections. A remote control is also included in the system, and if you want to control your device easily, there’s an app for that. The Home Theater Control App makes it easy for you to navigate and adjust settings using a Bluetooth connection. Speaking of Bluetooth connection, another spec that audiophiles might particularly enjoy is that this audio system allows wireless streaming of your favorite music from your Bluetooth-capable devices.
As for the sound performance, this beauty does not disappoint. Despite its compact features, the YAS packs a powerful punch with its dual down-firing subwoofers, eliminating the need for a separate subwoofer unit. It is also equipped with an exceptional bass reflex port for that deep, rich bass as well as dual full-range drivers located at the front that transform any listening experience into a fully immersive one. Simply put, this is a state-of-the-art technology that gives this audio system a definite edge over the competition. Equipped with the Air Surround Xtreme, this sound bar gives you a clear reproduction of a 7.1-channel surround sound, allowing you to experience a realistic sound rendition in a surround-sound environment.
In summary, this beauty stands out from the rest with is superior audio delivery. If you’re looking for a sound system that would give you the best audio listening experience without breaking the bank, this is it.
